Holy Cow!

So we are in a densely populated area of the city (13M people in Delhi), but there are random cows all over that just wander around eating garbage (apparently there are monkeys that climb all over the buildings in the city too, but I haven't seen them yet). They've come from illegal dairies in the city, and once the cows aren't able to milk, they let them go to fend for themselves (this pic of Moriah was taking on our walk to work). The city is trying to round them up, but since they are sacred animals in the Hindu religion, they can't do anything with them once they are caught.

There are also dogs everywhere. I was running yesterday morning and ran past a pack of at least two dozen that were fighting. They seem to leave the people alone though and the people leave them alone. Very interesting!
